The Fallen Warrior Cyning

A fallen warrior, with nothing left but emptiness and pain. He sold his own life to the eldritch horror Asura, in a bid to obtain the power necessary to sate his undying thirst for revenge. Upon fusing with him the creature devoured his heart, thereby leaving Cyning completely dependent on it to sustain his life. He is now more powerful than ever, but at a terrible price.

A drawing for Wynterhawke07, of his character Cyning. I used a lot of references for this, much like my drawing of kaiju Asura. I couldn't resist putting a bit of a creative twist on the design though... The creature on his back is how I imagine Asura's "larval" form. Upon fusing with Cyning it effectively entered its first instar, and will gradually go through several more instars until it finally reaches its adult form. It's mainly a combination of a facehugger and a Texas redheaded centipede, with a little bit of spider. I also threw in a little Venom tongue for good measure, since I thought Wynterhawke might appreciate that. ^.^ I was trying to make it look like a giant facehugger-ish creature latched onto his back and chewed a hole through his chest, with the rest of his armor sort of growing out from it organically. The legs wrapping around his torso are intended to be evocative of ribs. I was originally gonna make its teeth black like with Asura's adult form, but I felt like that made it difficult to recognize his chest-mouth for what it was, so I went with a yellowed off-white color instead. My rationale is that its teeth will turn black like obsidian as it matures, thereby becoming much stronger and sharper. Its life cycle (purely my own headcanon ) is partly inspired by real-life parasitoids, which are similar to parasites, except that they typically devour/kill their host. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasito…
